Toddler Swimming at Maccabi Aquatics

AGES: 1 year – 3.5 years

Our Toddler Swimming classes are a fun and engaging introduction to swimming for children aged 1 to 3.5 years, with a parent or carer in the water.

Through songs, games and age-appropriate activities, toddlers are introduced to the water in a relaxed and supportive environment while developing important early swimming and water safety skills.

What will toddlers learn?

Classes focus on:

  • Water familiarisation and confidence
  • Safe entry and exit from the pool
  • Floating and kicking
  • Blowing bubbles and putting their face in the water
  • Moving through the water with support
  • Holding onto the pool edge
  • Following simple instructions
  • Developing early independent swimming skills

Our teachers tailor activities to suit the age and development of the children in each class, ensuring lessons are both enjoyable and purposeful.

Preparing for Learn to Swim

The Toddler program provides the foundations for our Learn to Swim program. As children develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to participate without a parent in the water, they can fast-track into our Learn to Swim program when they are ready.

There is no rush to progress. We recognise that every child develops differently and will support families in determining the right time to take the next step.
