Our All Abilities Swimming program is designed for swimmers 18 years and over with a physical or intellectual disability who want to develop their swimming skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

With a high teacher-to-swimmer ratio and teachers who have specific training and experience working with individuals with disabilities, sessions are adapted to suit each swimmer’s abilities, needs and goals.

Developing Skills Through Swimming

Swimmers work towards many of the same skills taught across our mainstream programs, with lessons tailored to individual ability and experience.

Sessions may focus on:

  • Water safety and awareness
  • Swimming technique
  • Stroke development
  • Fitness and endurance
  • Strength and coordination
  • Building independence in the water

Lessons are structured to provide appropriate challenge while remaining positive, enjoyable and engaging.

Who Can Participate?

The program is available to swimmers aged 18 years and over with a physical or intellectual disability.

For safety reasons, participants must be able to swim at least 25 metres independently and without assistance.

When Are Lessons Held?

Our All Abilities program operates year-round, excluding public and religious holidays and scheduled pool closures.

Sunday: 8:30am – 9:30am

It is an opportunity for adults of all abilities to stay active, continue developing their swimming skills and enjoy being part of a welcoming and inclusive aquatic environment.
