Maccabi Aquatics

Maccabi Aquatics is a new full-service swim school that has been established as part of a long term partnership between Maccabi Victoria and Bialik College.

Our aim is to foster a lifelong love of water by developing and instilling confidence in our swimmers. We will achieve this by providing the skills required for a solid foundation in beautiful technically correct strokes and lifesaving water safety!

The Maccabi Aquatics team is united by a common goal: to give skilled swimming instruction in a happy, fun and nurturing environment. Our focus on excellence and quality goes hand in hand with our enthusiasm in equipping all our swimmers with the skills to be the best they can be in the water.

Maccabi Aquatics is a Swim Australia registered and accredited swim school, as well as an AUSTSWIM accredited swim school. All our teachers hold AUSTSWIM/Swim Australia Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualifications, current CPR and WWC checks at a minimum.

Michelle Whytcross as Head of Aquatics

Michelle has worked in the swimming industry for 28 years. She started her journey as an instructor while attending University. During this time she developed a passion for sharing her love and knowledge of water and swimming with others.

Having swum all her life and competed at district level, swimming has been a part of her life since before she could walk.

Some of her best swimming memories are from school, she is an OC of Mount Scopus College ’93.

Upon finishing University, Michelle moved overseas for 16 years. Whilst away she ran swim schools in the US, UK and, Malaysia. Upon returning to Melbourne Michelle was the Operations Manager of a large swim school business – successfully overseeing five swim schools in the SE and Bayside areas.

Michelle has a plethora of knowledge to share with Maccabi Aquatics swimmers, parents and, swimming teachers. We view this as a great asset to this amazing community-based program.

“I am very excited to be a part of Maccabi Aquatics and to oversee a swimming program from start to finish. My goal is to not only help swimmers develop confidence and beautiful technique, but also to share my teaching knowledge with the next generation of swimming teachers.” Michelle Whytcross – Aug 2021
