Here are 4 reasons every child should continue swim lessons during winter….

Many parents remove their children from swim lessons during winter because their child may catch a cold or flu. However, children who participate in regular swimming have increased immunity against colds and flu, not to mention better physical fitness. Further, our swimming pool is heated to 30 degrees to ensure students are comfortable and happy during their lessons over winter.

Swimming in winter provides immunity and other physical benefits for children. Swimming is a low impact exercise with major benefits for children’s hearts and lungs. It also helps build their coordination and balance.

To keep kids comfortable and healthy over winter, we recommend ensuring your kids are properly dried and changed before leaving the swim school. We also recommend they wear a beanie and socks to ensure their heads and toes are kept warm when leaving.

When learning new skills, including swimming, consistency and practice are consistent key to improvement and progression through the levels.  Particularly for children under 4, a significant gap in swim lessons can lead to significant decline in ability.

Starting swimming lessons this winter is the best way to ensure that your child masters the water skills they need in time for the gorgeous Spring / Summer seasons.

Kids want to be back in the water at the first sign of summer. However, if children’s have not participated in regular swimming, it’s likely their water skills will be reduced which impact their confidence in the water and increasing their risk.
